What's the difference between my child's age and their league age?
When registering your child for Little League, sometimes how old they are and what their league age is can be different. Each child, based on their month and year of birth, has a league age. The league age is used to determine which division is most suitable for each player. If a player were to play in a more advanced division (in a world without Little League age requirements) it could be harmful to the player, both physically and fundamentally. We, along with every other Little League, use the Little League Age Charts (listed below) to determine a players league age and based on that information place them in the appropriate division. There rare exceptions where a player may not be able to play in a particular division due to safety issues, at which our player agent will ensure that they are in a division that will not be harmful to them. And yes, the date cutoffs are different for baseball and softball. Please note, that if your child is a female and will be playing in our baseball division, we have to use the baseball age chart to determine her age as that is the division in which she will be playing.
